Freedom is always ABSOLUTE!

We all know that either you speak Truth or you don’t. There are no half measures in speaking the Truth. For any righteous person, speaking plain, unvarnished truth is the ultimate #Dharma no matter how painful it is or how much damage it can cause. Mahatma #Vidhur in #Mahabharata was such a righteous person.


Similarly, either you have absolute Freedom of Speech or there is no Freedom of Speech.

When the world is raging against #ParisAttack and coming together to defend freedom of speech, India is discovering #ELITISTOVERLORDS such as Ms. Sagarika Ghosh, who want to re-define liberals values on their own terms and often love to pass judgments about what passes for Freedom of Speech.

I am sure thar Ms.Ghosh would have surely called for a ban on #TheInterview movie which is very crude and offensive towards #NorthKorea but let’s not condemn her for her nice bourgeoisie taste, which we proletariats don’t have and focus our attention on larger problems associated with such #ELITISTOVERLORD warped thinking.

It pains me to no end that such #ELTISTOVERLORD wants to filter out content, all in the name of not offending people’s sensibilities who are willing to kill people who do not share their sensitivity or outlook. Ms. Ghosh and her ilk warn people that you don’t have any rights to create offensive (define per their term) and if you do then be prepared for the consequences.

To such #ELTISTOVERLORD I just want to remind them that the great Mahatma Gandhi (whom #ELTISTOVERLORD quote as per their convenience) always taught people never to get violent or feel offended even when faced with physical violence (remember somebody slaps you on one cheek, you present your another cheek to the assaulter) and always forgive the aggressor. Overcome violence with moral purity was his mantra.

Creative people often use non-violent means, in the case of the journalist killed at #CharlieHebdo, their wit sharpened on the whetstone of satire to pass on their message and nobody should define that as vulgar. The best course is to avoid offensive article or forgive artist for their offensive creation.

Hope our #ELTISTOVERLORDS stop dealing in grey and start acting in black and white so that we all are clear about where they stand.
